Greetings! Welcome to Austin Tennis Club!

I’m Mike Flynn, president for 2008. ATC is a great group of glbt-friendly tennis players who have come together for fun, competition, exercise, social events, and camaraderie. I’m biased, but I think ATC is the best glbt social group in Austin and the best club in the International Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA). Our six-year-old Heart of Texas (HOT) Classic tournament has quickly grown to become the biggest contributor to charity on the entire, Milan-to-Sydney GLTA tour, as well as one of the most popular tournaments with the players. We compete fiercely with the Houston and Dallas clubs for the Texas Cup, a travelling trophy awarded to the strongest glbt tennis club the state each year. And I think we have the most fun, offering everything from Friday night social doubles and Sunday walkup tennis and drills to challenge ladders and a dizzying array of competitive options; not to mention off-the-court social events like movie nights, laser tag, and other fun activities. I don't think it's going too far to say that ATC is like a second family to a lot of us.

Our incredible board and other devoted volunteers all work together to make ATC the best that it can be. In that spirit, we always welcome constructive feedback and input: What is ATC doing well? What could we do better? What new tennis or social events would you like to see? Email me ideas, call me with questions, and remember that all members are welcome to attend monthly board meetings.
